TWIGMAN AND THE SYCAMORE TREE
ONE DAY TWIGMAN WAS WALKING HOME FROM A HARD DAY OF WORK. HE WAS VERY TIRED FROM HIS HARD WORK AND DECIDED TO SIT DOWN BY A SYCAMORE TREE TO REST. HE DID NOT NOTICE THE MANY SYCAMORE TWIGS LAYING ON THE GROUND. HE FELL ASLEEP.
HE AWOKE WHEN HE HEARD THE GRUMBLING OF THE TREE OWNER AS HE WAS PILING UP THE SYCAMORE TWIGS TO DISPOSE OF THEM. TWIGMAN SAID, "OH, OH, I HAD BETTER GET OUT OF HERE AND HE STARTED TO SLIP AWAY.
THE GROUCHY TREE OWNER YELLED, "YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET AWAY FROM ME THAT EASY!" AND HE STARTED TO CHASE TWIGMAN.
TWIGMAN DID NOT GET AWAY. THE GROUCHY OLD TREE OWNER CAUGHT TWIGMAN AND PUT HIM ON TOP OF THE PILE OF SYCAMORE TWIGS.
HE WAS GETTING READY TO TIE UP THE BUNDLE WHEN TWIGMAN SAID, "I AM NOT A SYCAMORE TWIG! I AM AN OAK TWIG AND I HAVE A WIFE AND THREE CHILDREN TO SUPPORT. PLEASE LET ME GO!"
THE SYCAMORE TREE OWNER JUST LOOKED GROUCHY. HE WAS REALLY KIND HEARTED AND HE LET TWIGMAN LOOSE. TWIGMAN SAID THANKS BUT HE DID NOT LOSE ANY TIME GETTING AWAY AS HE RAN FOR HIS LIFE. THE TREE OWNER LAUGHED AND LAUGHED.
